Default Please help with my solo monk

Ok first i would like to thank your for taking the time to view this forum. I am having a problem with my monk build and i was hopeing that someone could have the answer. My build is as follows,

Mo/Mes LVL 20 hp:55 Energy:44

Skillbar: 1. Protective Spirit, 2.Orson Of Healing, 3.Healing Breeze, 4.Zealots Fire,
5.Mending, 6.Essence Bond, 7. Balthaurs Aura..
Healing:13
Smite:15
Protection:7
divine favor:4

So i am pretty much new to this whole solo monk thing. I always wanted to learn it. so now i finally am. and at this point im sure all the folks who are reading this thread know exactly how much is invested in one of these monks and can understand how i would like to get this fixed as soon as possible. And in advance i have read alot of posts. and searched alot on the forums before posting this thread.

My Problem is that when i try to go and solo for lets say..minators outside ice tooth. i will run into a few problems. problem one is that i run outa energy way to fast.. even with essence bond and 4 creatures attacking me... second even with mending giving +4 i still take -life cause they do 5 dmg..sometimes i even see -10 with prot spirit on.. i dont know how thats possible, but its happening..
Finnally when i try to get to spots that are said to be soloable.. lets say... west augry exit for griffons.. I run into poison scorpions and such... i do not yet have Sheild of Judgement.. I plan on getting that sooner or later.. at this point it dosent really seem worth it due to my energy issues anyway.. so any help would be greatly apreciated .. thanks for your time

Take out orison of healing and put in balthazars spirit so each time you get hit you gain 2 energy. Keep breeze and protective spirit up at all times. Take a sword or axe with a +20% enchantment grip/pommel so you wont have to cast breeze and protective spirit as much. Take out balths aura and put in symbol of wrath. Get SoJ ASAP because it will really help do more damage when you use symbol of wrath. Take smite down to 13 or 14 so you can put more into protection, that way you will run into less energy problems since you wont have to cast prot spirit as often.

Take some points out of healing. You only need enough to get 10 pips of health regeneration with mending + breeze. I think that's about 8-9. Part of the problem you're likely running into is that Balth aura and (I think) Zealot's fire now make enemies run, so you're getting less energy than you should be because you aren't being hit as much. There isn't terribly much you can do about that until you get SoJ really.

this is my griffon skillset:
soj
arcane echo
breeze
prot spirit
blessed aura
mending
balths spirit
essence bond

55 health ... axe of enchanting +18 .. blessed aura at 32 ..
16 smite
13 div favor
9 heal (or maybe 8; you just need to put the lowest amount in to still have +3 mending)
9 prot

cast all maintained enchantments at beginning; run up to first rockshot and cast prot spirit and run by him; aggro the next 2 groups of minotaurs;
prot spirit -> breeze -> archane echo -> soj -> soj (once the first soj exactly between a quarter and half way recharged) -> repeat

remember that you can cast prot spirit or breeze whenever you want and i highly recommend it. if you have only about 4 enemies on you, dont bother casting breeze (although it may look like you will die, once you cast soj their attack rate is slowed). as for the rockshots .... soj>rockshots

summary: get soj or get out; your energy problems are probably related to the fact that you are casting a 25 energy spell to deal your damage ........ btw how do you kill anything with balths and zealots now anyways?

wow thanks guys...i really apreciate it.. i took some sugestions from all the posts and made some adjustments to my char with them..and bingo i can now solo the griffins..i really dont know if i should be asking this but.. i have seen only like 2 places to use a solo monk.. because to me it seems that they are almost exclusivly a pure physical damage handler.. so aside from ice tooth cave, and the griffin run.. i really dont know what else there is to solo if you could write me a private message with some hints or locations i would totally dig it.. thanks for your help fellas HAPPY NEW YEAR

I am enjoying learning to use my new solo monk but see it is a very fragile creation. If you are blindsided by a single unexpected blow you can die, and there is no life after res.
I also do not have SOJ because I am just completing Ascension and have not yet got to Mineral Springs. Also I am wearing Amnoon armor, it's the best available atm. With these limitations I am learning energy management, which spells are essential and which to use only after I'm attacked. If I cast everything before an attack I don't have energy reserves to survive that first attack.
The legend of the "invincible monk" is deceptive. It takes a lot of attention and fast fingerwork to keep these guys alive.

My skill set is almost the same except i use mantra of resolve to take care of the rockshots instead of arcane echo. I find that arcane echo may be powerful but its not highly needed for griffons. I also take out essence bond for symbol of wrath.

I gather as much griffons as i can, then cast soj. (I also have a +18% enchantment weapon). When soj finishes, all the griffons around u would have less than 30hp unless they came into the group late. Thats when i cast symbol of wrath to finish them all off.

i personaly like using a Mo/W if i were u id go to the desert and switch to a mo/w then get bonettis defense. for every miss (75% chance miss) u gain 5 energy. so not only do enemies miss u u get energy for them missing. a def plus. also i love SoJ but Glads Def works well also, less energy then SoJ but not quite as powerful and no knockdown. eitehr way i would switch to Mo/W but thats just my opinion.

I just have to say this.. after cappin soj.. and after a few days of solo monkin.. MAN ITS FUN not becuase of great drops or anything like that.. actually im really not gettin that good of drops. my best drop so far is a max gold feiry dragon sword of enchanting. but whats most fun is figuring out ways to try and make it your own build. take opinions and use them. and its also so cool watching all the monsters fall at your feet . and your standing there like Boomshakalaka... so far im having a great time.. what i plan on doin next is to find ways to make my build better and maybee even take a look at what other secondaries have to offer.. i would like to thank all the folks that helped me in this thread. have a good one.

for griffons i use monk/necro and use Prot Spirit, spiteful spirit, zealots fire or balth aura, symbol or wraith, healing breeze, mending, bakth spirit and essence bond.
i have no problems killing them or staying alive but i use a few skills that cause them to run. i mainly use spiteful spirt, this skill is great. i do have a problem fighting when rockshots are about though. if they distract your healing breeze then your dead. the problem i have is rounding up enough griffons. i normally only have about 10 at the most to kill when more like 20 would be alot better.
